Case Study
About Assignment:
This project was for Graphic Design Communication 1 at De Anza College. The purpose was to design a good looking logo for an imaginary company, and then use this logo for the company’s business cards, envelops and letter heads.
About Company:
ADI is a fictional PC hardware company that makes both CPUs (Central Processing Units) and Graphics Cards.
What does the company need?
A good logo that will be recognizable, easy to place both online (screen) and on documents and cards (digital and print), and eye catching. A good incorporation of the logo into the mentioned documents while using as few types of ink as possible (preferably 2 color inks and 1 black ink).
My vision for the project:
I wanted to have a logo that was set apart from other hardware company logos both in terms of the overall design and colors used. It would be very different from both Intel and AMD, and also different from Nvidia, with a different shade of green. Again, the least amount of inks would be used in print, and the logo would be easy on the eyes and recognizable on a screen. For the business documents, the style would keep the outer-space theme of the logo, but not be too hard to understand making it clear what each part of the document/card was about.
