Case Study
About Assignment:
This project was for Graphic Design Communication 2 at De Anza College. The purpose was to create a package for a product a fictional company was designing in order to make the product appealing and also to somewhat understand the norms of packaging for what ever type of product it was.
About Company:
ADI is a fictional PC hardware company that makes both CPUs (Central Processing Units) and Graphics Cards.
What does the company need?
A package for their latest CPU series that will follow the norms of branding for CPUs yet still stand out in its own way.
My vision for the project:
I wanted to have a theme of outer space while still following the conventions of CPU packaging. The whole design should be simple but still have brand recognition. The colors of course wouldn’t match the other 2 major companies in the CPU market (Intel, AMD) so the brand could stand apart.
Examples of CPU packaging:
(the 5 and 7 are mostly the same for both brands. The 5 means 6 cores or mid range combination of P and E cores, the 7 means 8 cores or higher end P and E core combination)
Work leading up to final product:

Where will Design be Used?
It will be on every package for the CPU. The specific CPU model will be included on the box somewhere above the logo, and the number on the lower right will change according to what tier CPU it is.
File Types Required
jpg files for the sketches and packaging mock-up, pdf for the dieline (the design that will be cut out of a sheet for the actual packaging)
